What to build for '71E?
Going in a '71E for a daily driver with some mountain roads thrown in.
I have a complete 2.2E and 2.2S engine with MFI. Originally I was going to stroke the 2.2E to a 2.4E. Now I am thinking I may use the 2.2S heads, throttle bodies and intakes to open it up a little bit. Will the larger ports hurt the bottom end too much around town? Anybody do this?

I think that a 2.4E with S heads would most likely work fine since the E heads seemed to choke off the engine a bit. You'll most likely wind up with a 2.4E with a torque curved shaped more like a 2.0E's, just shifted up some.
To put it differently, it will be a little bit peakier than a 2.4E with stock heads. You might even want to try going with a DC40 or DC60 cams.
