remove mfi cam drive?

I have a pair of rsr sprint cams that are for mfi, i don't plan on running mfi ever so what do i do about the end extension on the cam? can it be machined off? should i leave it and add the mfi seal on my came tower? use it for a sportomatic pump for a trans cooler? any ideas?
thanks!

If those are factory RSR sprint cams, I would keep the cams intact and simply install the seal in your cam housing.

Here's what you need to properly seal the cam.

that looks like a nice setup Henry, what about my sportomatic pump as a trans cooler pump idea? i seem to remember that factory 914-6 race cars did this.

The Sportomagic pump will work great as a trans cooler. Remember to regulate the pressure downward as that pump operates way too high for cooling purposes.
The best way to run the Sporto pump is to remove the flange, drill two 6 mm holes 10 mm off center and install two 6 mm allen screws. The allen screws will engage the pin on the pump. This requires no additional bracket, you just bolt the pump to the cam tower with 3 long 6 mm bolts. Don't forget to drill oil return holes in the cam bearing journal to allow oil pressure from the journal to return into the engine instead of pressurizing the pump.
