Hi all, i have a 1991 964 C2 which i am building into a race car, it will be a multipurpose car for endurance, tarmac rally and circuit racing.
I would like to build a really strong and reliable engine to output 300hp + but don't want to mortgage the house to achieve! The current engine is tired and I have bearing material in the filter so motor needs to be rebuilt. I have already got a header system but i am now thinking about 3.8 barrels and maybe LINK or Motec. Has anyone got any recommendations and any suggestions as I am at the research stage. cheers Tony ![]() |

I would add one thing.... Since you are in New Zealand.... I would choose Link hands down.... You are close to the factory..... that would be some awesome support!!!

Motec is a great choice
you want to enhance revs, breathing and displacement at a minimum use Pauter or similar rods, light pistons, and a valve train better designed for reving than stock including an appropriately lumpy cam 993 heads breathe better, Motec allows the removal of the barn door, use MAP and temp sensors to control fuel . if you still have any cash left then consider 102mm or larger p/c sets
