574 loctite removal, Mec & brush

I know it is recommended to use Mec and a wire brush to remove loctite 574, in this case from the cam towers. Any concerns with the wire brush upsetting the surface of the tower? The wire brush I have isn't real stiff.

Try Locktite Chisel.
It is nasty stuff too, but it works.

We use MEK, just be very careful with exposure. Don't get it on your skin and limit the amount you breath. That Shiiiit is nasty!!!!!

Well they didn't mention that 40 years ago when I would clean up daily with a rag at the 55 gal. drum; after painting all day in an open waterfall booth with no mask. When the shop was out of MEK there was always the 55 gal. drum of toluene. Factory life pre OSHA.

Don’t want to hijack this thread but; 25 years of severe migraine headaches which finally passed, liver clear and no big C. Steady practice of cleansing, fasting and really watching it after age 40 that helped break the migraine cycle. Much more to it of course but fantastic at 59.

The funny thing was that in 1970-71 I was handed the OSHA manual and instructed to make sure the building and equipment would pass. IIRC nothing mentioned about the chemicals other than to secure them from tipping over and spilling. Some regulation is a good thing!
