Most '83 SC's came with Kobelschmidt pistons that look like this.

Thanks for the pictures Tom. At this point Im going to put my errant wrist pin clip mystery to rest and chalk it up to the fumble fingered mechanic. I guess I got lucky and my car will be back on the road sooner than later. I going to go ahead and replace the chain ramps however since I have easy access at this point.
