Another Texas rebuild to begin soon

I had planned to start this about a year ago, but work got in the way. Now I'm ready to start rebuilding my 1981 SC 3.0L. So far, I have prepared by getting Wayne's book and reading it. I'm a little nervous about whether I can complete the entire rebuild, but as long as I avoid it, my poor car just sits in the garage.

The next step is cleaning the garage and collecting tools and parts. Are there any Pelicans in the Dallas area who would like to store their engine stand or yoke in my garage? Or any other specialty tools, for that matter. I'll even keep them tested to make sure they still work.

This weekend, it has been garage cleaning time. Pics to come in a thread when I seriously begin the engine drop.

You should be OK. Just study and comprehend what you will be doing, and think ahead several steps so you don't paint yourself into a corner.

Take your time. Don't scrimp on new parts where needed. Cleanliness is next to Godliness. Did I mention that clean is important?

I've had mine apart twice, and it's run both times again! I certainly am not an expert, and I pulled it off.

Hey Mark,

I am buying a cam tool inexpensively from someone local. I should have it sometime this week. I work in Richardson, so it should be no problem to try a tool exchange... although I don't have much at this point.
