Orientation of Mahle 98P11

Are there any installation instructions available for Mahle 98P11. What is the orientation of the piston in the cylinder? I can't find anything about this. Here is my set of pistons.

Is the following installation correct (the large flat area facing to the right) or do I have to turn the piston 180 degrees?

I'm not sure about your particular pistons but some Mahles have an arrow pointing to the top of the piston. Can you determine which valve pocket is the larger of the two? The larger pocket goes with the larger (Intake) valve.

That is the confusing part. They are both of the same size 8) However the pistons were marked with an "E" at one of the pockets so I am wondering if that is the orientation towards the Exit valve? I hate guess work but it would make sense.

The high side of the flat area will be away from the plug.

Check my complete rebuild thread with lots of pictures. You can see how it should look. I just goofed on the cam timing. Engine is back in the car again and should be running soon I hope.

911 3.2 to 3.4 conversion; engine not running
