why not just replace
I was just looking and saw a used one for sale (tinted911sc) for $75. If yours is buggered up this could be a viable option!

whoops - I gues you already knew that!
OK - so maybe you already knew you had one for sale! Maybe next time I will look closer at who I am providing input to!
Got to love public displays of cluelessness!

You can (or at least could) get pieces which said they were repairs for damaged external threads on these. Screwed over the old buggered threads somehow, using innermost threads which were least likely to be damaged, or something. Had good, new threads on the other end. Have you checked our host's offerings?
I'd be inclined to use those but have them welded on. After disassembling the unit and removing everything inside, so the heat of welding doesn't hurt anything. That way you can check to see if the thermostat part works. Put in freezer, then toss in pan of boiling water. See if anything moves. Put back in freezer. See if it moves back. This thermostat part (a sort of cannister, which is filled with wax!) should be separately available: 911 107 015.03 |
