964/ 997 GT3 RS Flywheel Comparison
The latest GT3 RS has a lightened version of the 964 RS single mass flywheel, part number 964.102.239.81 which weighs 8.2 pounds
Up to now GT3's equipped with a single mass flywheel (Cup, Clubsport and RS) have used the same flywheel as a 964 RS, part number 964.102.239.31 which weighs 11 pounds. This may be of interest to those who are contemplating what flywheel to use on their 964. I suspect this lighter flywheel will compound the idle issues 964's have with a light flywheel though. With Carbs or alternative FI it would be cool though. Late development, I have been told this light flywheel ".81" part number is the same as 2005 and later 996 Cup racing cars. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I currently have a .31 flywheel up against a 993 6 speed using a 993 Turbo/3.8 RSR plate and a 993 RS disc and it works fine. I suspect the GT2 unit would work as well.

I have the turbo version of the RS single mass flywheel (12 lb), it replaced a perfectly good dual mass flywheel (30 lb) during an engine overhaul. Do you want to buy my dual mass flywheel?
Seriously. Best improvement I have made on my car. No issues at all. Thanks, Mark
