2.4 engine with 2.2 MFI P/C/heads/cams/injection?

Hello from Mexico!
I have a 1972 Targa, and we pulled the matching and running engine (using Webers) about a year ago. I also have a 2.2 liter 911E engine with a case problem, but good pistons, heads etc. Would it make sense to install the pistons and cylinders and the MFI on the 2.4 block? As I read this would increase the compression ratio and power of the 2.4 engine. Because of the higher compression, could this be even more powerful than the 2.2 MFI 911E? What I couldn't find out is if the MFI can be used without modification, although it looks to me like that, as I would use the E-cams, isn't that true?
Any comments/suggestions (even insults) for a novato (=novice; but I have a very capable mecanico!) would be much appreciated!
Harald
