help with remove broken stud
 
can someone tell me the best way to remove this stud . i used wd-40 with pipe wrench , but not works . is any other way or do i need any speical tools ? sorry i m noob . thanx

Weld a nut to the broken stud. Lots of penatrating oil. Then try some heat lots of heat. Chances are it will still break but will be your best chance.

If welding a nut didn't work, then drill it out. Ther is a jig you can buy that helps to center the drill so you don't damage the threads.

Here is what I used on my headstuds. Also, for heat, go with the yellow gas can, not the blue one.

Drill and retap it. I just did it with the engine still in the car laying on my back, with a hand drill, and no jig, and somehow it worked. So its not that bad. Cut the stud flush to the head, center punch it, drill a small pilot hole, drill out with your 8mm bit or whatever matched the tap, then tap it. Just make sure you drill straight! Good as new

BTW i tried that stud removal kit and it didnt work for me, just snapped my stud even more.

I would first attempt removal by welding a nut to the remains of the stud and use a MAPP gas torch to heat the area of the head. Once nice and hot, I would use an impact gun to try to back out the stud.

If that didn't work, I would do as suggested and center punch the stud and drill it out in a drill press. You could always take it to a machine shop and have them fixture the head on a mill and let them drill and tap the hole.

That's how I did (but with propane) my head studs, both broken and non-broken. Didn't need an expensive impact either, just a cheap electric.
The heat from the welding seams good to help break the corrosion.

The cylinder? Pull it out.

I'm trying to be helpful and not a dick, but if you don't know it's the cylinders, maybe you should put the tools down and walk away.
In any case you MUST buy Waynes book. It is very good and VERY cheap in the grand picture.

Try tapping it with a rubber mallet, be carefull not to break off any cooling fins.
