Well I got a USPS priority package today with GREEN Viton O-Rings and a tube of Dow Corning 111 valve lubricant and sealant. I took lindy 911 advice and pulled the bolts one at a time, cleaned, and then reassembled one bolt at a time. Upon inspection to the bolts and the case halves one thing was consistent. The left side of the case has no bevel on it, and the blue O-Rings on that side were the only ones to pinch.
Well now I had a decision to make. I was concerned about getting RTV in the Oil Galley but didn't have much choice, it had to be repaired. But I was much more worried of drilling a bevel in the case and getting metal in the engine. I decided in the end to reassemble with the green O-Rings and 111. It seemed logical that if the factory was able to get it to seal than I may be able to also.
All seems to have gone well. The left side rings seem to have stayed in the washer bevel. No ring fragments are evident and the washers all are tight to the case. But I guess I will only know for sure when its fired up.

My case was the same, no chamfer in the left side. I think the problem is the RTV pushing the o-ring out. The 111 allows the o-ring to move but it doesn't displace it. The o-ring fills the bevel in the washer. Mine are dry.
