996 exhaust port spacing distance...anyone know?

Does anyone know what the center to center distance of the exhaust ports are on the heads of a 3.4 996 motor, and even though it is water cooled, if they are the same as an air cooled 911 motor?

You must have the same idea I me. I want to get some 996 headers and weld new flanges on to use on my 964. Did you ever find out what the spacing was on the 996 exhaust ports?

I have taken a set of 996tt headers and welded new flanges and used them on my 3.3 engine. The runners all line up, 996 have oval ports where 911 are round...

Well that clears up the port spacing but are the ports on a 3.3 or earlier engine the same as the 3.6? I would guess they would be so I think I will get a set of long tube 996 headers on the way and see what I cant come up with.

Thanks
Mike

Yes, all 911 derivatives have the same port spacing...including the 3.6

Thats what I wanted to hear. $100 for a set of brand new 996 long tube headers is a good start for a custom 964 exhaust. Now I need to research which kind of muffler I need to run.

Is there a source for compatible flanges, or would you have to cannibalize your stock system to create the new one?
