My Brother took a second stab at cleaning my cases after I did. He ran them through his block washer (soapy solution) and finished up with a steam cleaning, pressure washer.
He said 4 of the jets air came out of but 2 did not. He wasn't sure where to introduce air though. All 6 of them took a tip cleaner just fine. I forgot to check them (with a million things going on in my head) and have put the cases together. Is there a way to pressurize the cases together while blocking certain holes off to check the oil squirters? Second, I am worried this may blow some of the assembly lube off parts. I used Liquimoly Montagepaste BTW. TIA ![]()

If you want to go through the trouble you can plug off the case and pressurize it with lube to test the squirters and pre lube everything better than just some assembly lube on the bearing surfaces will.
It will take a little work and be a little messy, but it will beat the hell out of putting together a motor that will later fail due to clogged or stuck squirters. |

True, just figured since some only get top ends done, there'd be a method.

How about getting a rubber nipple in there and drawing a good vacuum on them?

A vacuum can only pull about 15 psi of force from the other side which I think is less than the cracking pressure for the squirters. Pressurized fluid to verify the spray pattern is your best bet.

If squirters are stuck closed I doubt motor oil will break them loose. Mine had three squirters stuck and required a very strong cleaner (Seafoam) to break them loose. I'm afraid you need to split the case back open to make sure everything is in working order and then put it back together.

New question:
If you can get a tip cleaner 1 1/4" down through the orifice, doesn't it mean it is not blocked? Second, I keep reading that there is a check ball. Is this check ball right below the surface of the squirter or down roughly the 1 1 /4"? I am thinking mine have been replaced without having a check ball. Am I correct in this? ![]()

You should not be able to put anything all the way in the squirter. The spring is at the outlet hole so dont screw up the spring with a wire. The ball is at the bottom of the squirter, The spring holds pressure on the ball until it reaches a certain pressure.
