Porsche Crest 79 3.0 top end and reseal

This motor sat for several years in the car but I had never seen an SC so rusty. The rust carried over to the sheet metal, exhaust, and cylinder dividers.
I m not able to get the fan apart from the alternator, heat, Zep on any pressure I can exert trying not to destroy anything.
Center case was never opened, the white case seals are from before my time in Porsche, 30 years building and I never built with them.
Miked out standard on the mains, cleaned the case and replaced everything where it came from, fresh seals, and intermediate shaft bearings.
This 3.0 has replacement 993 dilivars only on the bottom row

Bruce

So you just split it to measure everything and you only replace what's needed? Just looking at all that rust makes cringe at the thought of trying to tear it down.

The rust has all been thrown away, exhaust, cylinder dividers, sheetmetal, etc. There is no use trying to clean rust.

Are the cylinder dividers called "baffle plates" in the parts catalog? I don't see the engine tin either.
