need help on a couple of items
trying to put together a 3.0 sc engine. first, i have a good 82 sc long block. I want to re-seal it before i use it but am having trouble removing the oil cooler. the upper nut closest to the fly wheel will not come off, stud and nut just spin. is that stud just pressed in the case, and whats the best way to remove it. second, i have a cis system from a running 78 sc engine, the 78 engine needs a rebuild, i would like to install the 78 cis system on the 82 engine. i realize that the 78 has larger ports so how would it run. anyone try this combination. thanks

It sounds like the cooler stud has been screwed out of the case threads. You should be able to remove it and reinstall the stud after the cooler has been removed.
The big port 78/79 CIS system is designed to work with the big port 78/79 SC heads. If you want to use the early CIS on the later motor, you should also transplant the heads.

Try not, Do or Do not

Split the nut with a nut splitter or a die grinder. When the cooler is off, replace the stud.
The inject system should work just fine. Just check to see that the injector clears the port. There will be a transition difference between the port and the manifold but it really won't make much difference. If it really bothers you, you can make some adapter plates to ease the transition.
