Crankcase casting
Starting to clean the half that goes in the stand and found in the oil residue a piece that appear to came from these area.
![]() Can I clean with a grinder and put some JB Weld or leave it as is? Here is another shot from the thermostat area showing some pitting of the aluminum. ![]() What do you think? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Francisco |

The first pic is steel pressed in to the aluminum, all cases are like that.
The oil passage doesnt have to be finished, its just a drill. Aluminum is more resilient than magnesium, I would leave it be. You have to ask yourself, what would be the down side of building this? Bruce |
