How does an original engine look like?

I'm it the middle of a restoration. The project car is a '69 2.0E MFI. I try to figure out how did the engine looked like when it was stock. I mean what was painted, what was for example black painted on the engine, what was zinc plated (and wich color? gold or silver? What was the color of the bolts? What left unpainted (like the engine block) etc. I saw so many rebuilt engines but they were different. I want to make it completly stock. Like it was built in the factory. Where are the best sources to get these informations?

thanks

From the pic you show, the throttlebodies and stacks are for a 72-73 2.4 liter engine. The air cleaner is appropriate for a 2 liter. Re-Verify what year and displacement the engine is.

Your engine looks beautiful. So a stock engine has to look like this?

The year of the engine is '69. Only the stacks are not correct. I already pirchased the right ones.
