Pulley removal tips?

The bolt on my 3.0 crank pulley will not budge! I've soaked with PB, tried a two foot cheater bar, cranked my impact gun to 11. No go.

Anyone have a good trick? Thanks, Steve

Try a longer cheater bar. I tried my 650 ft lb impact to no avail. The long cheater bar worked great though.

I took the crank to the tire shop and tip the guy a couple bucks. One hit and its off. I dont have the volume needed through a 3/8 hose but the shop does.

It took my wife HANGING on a 4' steel pole slipped over the breaker bar and me standing on the engine stand to keep it from toppling over. Unreal, but it's off! Thanks guys.

What I should have said is, you can still split the case with the pulley on the crank. Thats the way I get the crank to the tire shop, not the engine.

Impact should work. I do not even remember if i cranked compressor to 120psi for pulley. Removing rear shock bolts on 964 been much harder.

To remove pulley use this

The crank pulley bolt that gives most people trouble is the type that has a flanged head on it. Underneath the flange its serrated and grips really good (obviously). The name that Porsche calls it in the tech specs is Durlok.
