Which plugs to use?

I am twin plugging my 3.2 heads and was wondering what plugs other Pelicans are using.
During my research I found alot of you are using a smaller thread plug for the lower set for better clearance.

So my question is what brand plugs are you using and what are the different codes for the upper and lower sets?
I am interested in platinum plugs.

Also is the dual 964 coil packs Wayne sells suitable for my purposes?

I use DCPR6E for the lower, BPR6ES for the upper from NGK. They're copper and cheap. You can go platinum if you want to spend more. But i'd recommend sticking with the old tried and true copper for our older engines.

The smaller lower plug has a 12mm thread and smaller hex to allow a 5/8 in. (16mm) socket to fit in the tight confines of the lower valve cover & cylinder head area.

You can also get an upper spark plug with std. 14mm threads and a 5/8 in. hex that will allow you to use the same sized spark plug socket on both upper and lower plugs. The smaller hex upper plug is BKR6ES (traditional plug type) or BCPR6E (V-power notched electrode).

Go to sparkplugs.com and you can search the bazillion variations of plugs available, by doing a search by plug construction.

Sparkplugs.com - Search by Characteristic

Sparkplugs.com is a wealth of information on what all the different plug numbers & letters mean

Your plugs are

-14mm or 12mm thread size
-gasket seat
-19mm thread reach
-gap .035"
-resistor
-removable or solid terminal does not matter
-heat range 6 if you choose NGK plugs or the correct heat range for Bosch is 7

Or you can just do a search by your vehicle- I chose my street car 87 Carrera 3.2L

. It's ridiculous- iridium, double platinum, platinum, copper, single or double ground, V-power, blah blah blah. I go with the simple traditional copper plugs and change them out every so often just as a matter of course to check how things look in the engine.

Thanks Kevin,

I really appreciate this information now I can let my machinist know what size to drill the second plug hole.

You have helped me make the decision to go with two different size plugs something I was umming and arring about.

I am going to go with the plain copper plugs also which will stop me from being lazy and force me to check my engine cylinder condition more regularly.
