930 cam timing question
I'm in the process of setting my cam timing on my 1985 930, I have finished the left bank, and starting the right bank. Were I get confused, were do I start the right bank in relation to crankshaft position.
This is what I understand 1. Set crankshaft at Z1 #1 2. Set both L/H and R/H cams with 930/dot facing 12:00 straight up. 3. Set #1 intake valve clearance. 4. Rotate 360 set TDC overlap. 5. Rotate 360 back to #1 TDC at Z1 At this point I'm at #1 TDC at Z1 (step 1.) Question- Were do I start the process/are position the crank for #4 |

After step 2 pin both the cams with the mark up.
4. Rotate 360 set TDC overlap on cyl 1 and #4 valves will be both closed. Set the dial indicator on #4 and rotate 360 and set #4 to desired movement. Bruce |

Daniel, as Bruce said. Just to clarify when you have done all above and start on right side, the mark on you camshaft will be facing down.
