1969t rebuild - Cam question
I am in the middle of rebuilding a 2.0t motor from a 69. I have the following parts ready to assemble:
2.2t heads 85mm pistons/cylinders 9.8/1 CR 40 webers SSI's Larger pulley I have both Solex and E cams This is a very mint car that will be used exclusively for street use. 1. Which Cams would you use, E or Solex? 2. Considering there is no oil cooler, any heat issues to be concerned with? 3. Are the 9.8/1's a concern? Should I reduce the CR? I was originally planning to build this car to 2.2 e specs, but the cylinders were out of spec and I couldn't find any in spec, so this led to ordering the 2.3 setup. Looking forward to your thoughts. Best Regards John

There is more power in the solex and they are very streetable. I m getting ready to build a 2.8 for the street and Solex is the choice.

Thanks Bruce for your thoughts. Solex was my first guess. I am hoping that someone who has built the same motor as me will also chime in.
I have moved this thread to the Technical Forum for more exposure. Thank You, John
