Valve guide tolerance
I just installed new valve guides in the heads for my 2.7.
If I want to check the tolerance, whats the reccomended tolerance between valvestem and valveguide?

My Haynes manual specifies the clearance as follows: Inlet .0011 to .0059 inches (.030-.15mm). Exhaust .0019 to .0078 inches (.050-.2mm). I don't know if these are new limits or wear limits.

That would be the valve adjustment clearances - not the clearance between valvestem and valveguide....

intake .0016-.0019
exhaust .002-.0022 shoot for the high end if measuring is difficult specialty gauge pins are best used as a go no go |

It looks like my Haynes numbers are both new spec and wear limit. They are not valve clearance numbers (that's .004 inches for both intake and exhaust).
