964 Oil Pump in 3.0 Case

What modifications are needed to install a 964 oil pump in a 3.0 liter case? Thanks for your help.

Tom

None that I could see. I laid my 993 magnesium pump in the case in anticipation for having to clearance some webs and found no clearance issues. Used some clay on the body of the pump to check clearances from surrounding webs and found plenty of clearance- at least 1/8 in.

I could see no indications that my case had been previously clearanced and did not expect to find any clearancing since my pump was a 3.0L pump

Thanks, Kevin. Sounds like an easy swap.

Is the short oil pump drive from the 964? Does anyone have one? Thanks,

Tom

Yep I was going to say the same thing as Tom (Butler)- don't forget you need the short pump shaft. It's the same shaft that all the other big-body pumps use, 930, GT3, 964/993, 996TT

Part number is 930.107.143.03

Garage
I went with a 930 pump in my 3L and all that was required was a shortened shaft between intermediate shaft and pump (noted above more than once) and also a modified lower screen to accept the pump intake which will now be located right above the lower sump plate opening.
