PPM Rods

Hi there,

has anyone got experience whatsoever with PPM rods?
Such as:
Porsche 911 2.4 / 2.7l Turbo H-SHAFT Pleuel Tuning | eBay

Application would be street, mid performance 2,4 Litre, max 7000 Upm, 9.5:1, main focus is lightweight.

Thanks,
Robert

Not heard of them. The advertising suggests good specifications. You live in OZ?

But why go to that kind of expense when the stock rods will work just fine for mild performance. I run stock rods in my 8,000 rpm 2.7 race motor, 10.5/1 nominal CR. It put out about 222 rear wheel HP on the dyno with carbs. You are not apt to make that much hp with a 2.4 in the tune you suggest.

Now their titanium rods - they sound like something to buy a lot of lottery tickets and dream about.

I know the standard ones are fine, i made a lot of motors with them.

My point is lightweight, even if the application will be max 200HP.

For a small engine with light components I wouldn't take a chance and prefer the Pauter X-beams.

Cheers,
Christian
