Machine shop recommended for Bay Area
Hi,
I need a recommendation for a machine shop that does Porsche 911 valve job in the Bay Area. I will bring them the heads. I know of German Precision by Peterson, but want another shop. Thanks

CE is in Lake Isabella, a long way from Bay Area. I rather not pack up the heads. There has to be somebody local to the Bay Area that can do a valve job on an old set of 2L heads. It can't be that hard.

Ted does all or most of the work for my engine builder and many others all over our region. Another choice would be Mike Stimson at Pacific Performance Motorsports. ::: PACIFIC PERFORMANCE MOTORSPORTS ::: Formerly known as
You might also ping some of the well-known shops in the area. While many will point to Ted or Mike, some will likely have alternative resources for straightforward and/or quick turn jobs.

Mike and Ted both do excellent work, as does Jay at Jay's Precision Machine (2 doors down from Ted). Mike's work is more race oriented, with commensurate price and delivery time, whereas Ted and Jay do machine work more to stock specs (although I'm sure that either one can do whatever custom work you ask for). I have had work done by all three and I highly recommend them all.
