valve to piston clearance

Thanks for the info Walt. The engine is out of the car in the process of rebuilding.
I bought a 1/4 threaded rod with nuts and washers. I pulled the rocker shaft out towards the oil cooler area. Easy.
I believe my clearance problem is a result of my improperly setting the cam timing.
I decided to loosen the large cam nuts, remove the tension (at this time lt side only).
I will recheck it this weekend. I am hopeful that will solve the #4 valve to piston issue.
Thanks,
Bill Freeman
