OK, So it has been a while, actually a year and three months since I removed my engine, but today, I put it back again!
It has been fully rebuilt due to broken head studs. It has been an amazing experience but not one I am planning on doing again for a long time! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() In the manual it says under the heading of engine refit, "The installation of the engine and transmission is the reverse of the removal procedure". Not strictly true I would suggest as when it is removed, everything lines up. When it is refitted, nothing lines up! I have also had the body sorted and bare metal resprayed so the time taken is not just engine rebuild. Now the fun part of reassembly of interiors and trim. This is my favourite time as you really feel you are getting to the end. |

How is this install, start up coming along?
Also, does a 911 motor really need the engine tin? I'm swapping in a 2.2L into my 912 and it doesn't have a tin.
