carerra 3.2 with itb and motronic - possible
Hi,
Having a Euro 86' 3.2 that I'm going to rebuild. It will go into a 914-6 GT replica. I will do small upgrades like 964 cams and steve wong chip. Is it possible to run ITB's and original Motronic ECU? Would I have to convert MAF to MAP in order to use the original Motronic? Just thought of it as an cheaper option than going EFI. Is this possible? Anyone that has done it?

I don't see how that is possible, MAF and MAP (speed density) are completely different calculations. MAF is a direct measurement of air mass while MAP has to be multiplied by RPM, volumetric efficiency, and corrected for temperature to estimate air mass.

Also MAP don't work too well with ITB's, it can be made to drive quite ok, but Alpha-N+MAP compensation is really the only proper way to get it to have traffic driveability of a stock car+response of the bike.
I will be making an adapter harness for 3.2 for a friend during winter in order to use VEMS ECU on stock harness. An additional loom will be necessary (for WBo2, grounds at least), better yet for injectors also as stock is wired as a batch fire. Stock trigger arrangement is fine with VEMS also.
