refinish valve cvrs.?
just sent my valve and chain case/cvrs. out to be blasted where these painted or treated with something? can i powder coat my chain cases? covers?

Originaly they were not coated. Yes you can powder coat them, but only on the outside and not on the sealing surfaces

Since these are aluminum pieces, wouldn't anodizing be the proper coating?

Anodizing would be ideal but over-kill for most. I anodized my valve covers in milspec hard black.

I had my valve and chain housing covers powder coated, but didn't do chain housings themselves. I did them all in a semi-gloss black, then wet sanded the coating off the script and ribs and had them recoated in clear. I masked the area around the script with thin plastic from a bubble pack to protect the black from getting scuffed.
