Adding an LSD to a 915 trans

If I buy a LSD from a well known poster here, what else is required to have, other than the standard non-LSD transmission? I believe my 915 is built between 1972-75, does the year built depend on the type / gear of LSD to buy for a 915?
These may be simple questions, but I have no idea on the additional parts beyond the LSD part. Thanks.
Vr,
Scott

The only thing I can think off that is important is to get teh proper splined LSD to work with your diff. You will have coarse spline output shafts if you have an early 915 with an open diff (prior to 76 IIRC) IF you get a fine spline diff you will need to source a set of fine spline output shafts. Chances are youll only find fine spline LSD. There is a trhead floating around with info on this if you do a search. I want to say that a coarse spline LSD is rare. GL.

HI Scott
is the LSD to go in your 1970 car or a later 915 box, if you have a box with a 7:31 CWP and a later fine spline LSD, you will need a spacer and longer diff bolts, also if the box you have is Mech speedo, and a later fine spline LSD you will also need a spacer to replace the Speedo drive on the inside of the diff, for the Elec' speedo.

If it is a 72 box you might need to have a special diff. I did a 72 a while ago and the new LSD had a 2 mm thinner flange where the ring bolts on. You can do it with shims under the bearings but it's pretty ugly.
