dkirk,
I was about to order this item today but it is showing up as "Temporarily Unavailable".
Can you give me an update on when more will be available, thanks!

dkirk 04-02-2014 06:20 PM

Hi armand80sc,

Thanks very much for your interest in the 911 Valve Lash Adjustment Tool. The demand for this product has been overwhelming and I'm in the process of recovering from a huge backorder. I presently have 100 tools on order and the shop is promising delivery in the 3rd week of April, at which time tools will be shipped from my location direct to waiting customers who have ordered through Pelican Parts.

I apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding. Let me know if you have further questions.

I hope Pelican has the tool on time. I ordered it to send it to a friend of mine who takes it with him for me. He is in the US till May 6th. Fingers crossed X.

Juts to clarify, when you say back order do you mean the original one or is this the 2nd back order?

The reason I ask is that the 6 I ordered over a week ago and have not shown as posted/ shipped on the PP web page order status. I emailed PP customer services and got a very prompt my reply stating they were expecting them in this week? Or will that be now 3 weeks?

dkirk 04-03-2014 07:47 AM

Hi Caledonian,

This is the second back order. Earlier this week I shipped the remaining 13 tools I had in stock to Pelican which I'm certain you will be getting your 6 from this batch. I'd suggest contacting Kyle to verify this.

Again, I apologize for the confusion and delays.

Silverconv 04-03-2014 09:07 AM

The valvelash tool is there, so should be on time. :)

How long before more become available? Accepting Pre-Orders?

dkirk 04-17-2014 05:48 PM

Presently 100 tools are being made up with another 100 to follow. Parts are at the plating shop for anodize. They should be ready to assemble and ship out the week of April 21.

Thank you all for your interest and patience during this initial tool-up and spool-up time. Demand has been overwhelming - that's good. Backorders have been frustrating - for me and obviously for potential customers - that's bad. The shop that I contract with is now set up to make these in quantity so my goal is to always have plenty in stock for no more of this backorder nightmare.

First time adjuster here. Aside from gaskets and locknuts for the covers, is there anything else I need besides this tool?

P356GT 04-25-2014 10:22 PM

So I Finally got one ordered to Scandinavia but the postage is way to HIGH....
Its a small piece and not so heavy but paying almost half of the tools retail price in shipping!
I hope and think it will be worth it in the end......I cant afford sending it back ;-)
It is somewhere over the Atlantic on its way over to me :-)

Yes, I came across the same issue, however by getting another 5 Porsche owners interested we approached our host who willingly gave us a special deal for a bulk purchase.

While the PP website is a great resource and a well developed tool, it would be impossible for it to be able to manage every situation. There are humans at the other side of the PP machine, and they are quite approachable. And in my experience, ready to find a solution.

I'm sure the tool with be worth it:)

Hi all, I'm Spanish, I use google translator, excuse the faults.
Received the tool, and tested.
It's very, very good, it saves time and the setting is perfect, thank you very much.
Regards, tonysc

¿qué tal un poco de foto de su coche :)

dkirk 05-01-2014 08:05 PM

Mike, - Hoping to get the demo video made sometime this month. Getting this tool into volume production has taken much more time and effort than originally anticipated. Video is on the to-do list.

Tonysc, - Thank you for your comments on the tool. I'm very pleased that you like it.

I presently have 75 tools in stock and all back-orders are presently being filled. There should be plenty left for new orders, plus another 100 are in process.
