A little confused about Viton
Bought a viton wrightwood case gasket set, but the oil pump seals are brown. Aren't they supposed to be viton / green? Or am I mistaken? Is one better than another anyway?

Viton comes in many different chemical formulas and as such it also comes in different colors. The most common colors used in automotive applications are black, brown and green. Charlie Spira (the man behind the curtain at Wrightwood racing) spends a great deal of time an effort sourcing the best products for each application.

Thank you for the reassurance; I learned something new. Apparently Viton isn't always green. I look forward to using this kit.. I only wish there was an itemized list of what was in there to help guide me. But it'll be fun figuring it all out.. I told my boss about how I am rebuilding my engine in my spare time and he replied: "You and I have very different ideas about what constitutes leisure time activity!"
