I've heard some builders just cut down a 3mm drill bit...

It's a shame this build has stalled.. I just acquired one of these motors and am in the same position of not having a car. Mine is split at the moment.. trying to sort out some machining and will be ready for reassembly soon.

hi John
I still have the 964.. I guess what I meant was that I have the 3.0 motor, but not a car to put it in.. I might be a few months from having the motor rebuilt so I have plenty of time to find another car

The build has stalled, but it continues!

I have taken on a new job that gives me considerably less time to tackle this myself. For better or worse, the engine now sits at Pete Delmer's shop in Pittsburgh, Pete's European Techniques. Pete is a long time friend and one of the best 911 builders in the country. He finally convinced me I was better off letting him finish this project than letting it collect dust in my garage. I hope to have the motor completed, and to find a car for it to run in, sometime next year.
