Rod Small End Bushing Question
I had my rods worked over by a local machine shop. I've been measuring them and noted one specification was off by quite a bit. The bushing he used on the small end is narrower than that called for in Wayne's book. Mine appear to be about 24.98mm while Wayne's book says it should be 25.98-26.00. Is this significant for a non-race motor? Was this extra bushing material for heat transfer? As you can see in the pic, the bushing still extends proud of the rod casting by quite a bit, just not as much as it should.

As long as the internal diameter is a good fit (I think they are usually individually honed to the gudgeon/wrist pin) it should not be an issue. Maybe vary between manufacturers?)
