Early Solex cams OK in later engine?

I have a pair of early Solex cams with the center oiling I was thinking of using in my 2,7 rebuild. Is it OK to use these in a later engine with the different oiling set up?

Get your cam carriers modified to feed the center lube. Love the soles cams

Thanks! I thought they would but it never hurts to ask! I've been wavering between the solex cams and "E" cams. euro p/c's,Weber's, 35mm port heads, sport muffler.

What else do you need to modify as this seems an interesting idea.

The sweetest engine ( there were many in 25 years) that I ever built for my street 914/6 was an RS spec 2.7 with Solex cams. The center feed system is really kind of redundant so I would plug the feed end (necessary even if you convert the cams for late housings) and pass on the center feed.

Just need the right cam carriers. Last 2.8 I built the soles grind was on 4 bearing cams so I had to use 3.0/3.2 cam carriers.

I used a pair of original, three bearing Solex cams in my last race engine. Do what Henry says if they are original.
