Zenith 40TIN pre atomiser question
Hello 2 all the experts on Zentih carbs!
I´m redoing my carbs and came across two different versions of pre atomisers fitted in my carbs. Have there been any changes or any different atomisers for Europe and US? Take a look at the pictures... Note the shape of the fuel inlet and the part goin to the middle tube section! Can those be mixed in one carb or on left and right carb? Help welcome! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I have no answer to the question but I can supply a single or set that matches if you decide which ones you want.

Sadly you have a non-matching set.

As far as I know there were two Zeniths triple throat carb specs. One for 2.2 t (69-71) and the other was for 2.4 T (European delivery only).
A few years back a company named Motor Meister thought they had a grasp on rebuilding these carburetors. It was their modus operandi to get assemblies in for rebuild, disassemble them completely and rebuild from a generic pile of parts. It was not uncommon for parts from one assembly to get used in another. This would have been OK if they were conscientious about the rebuild process. My guess is that the previous owner rebuilt his own carburetor missing the nuance or they sent them out for rebuild and the difference just got missed.

Hi!
So what i figured out: Like said before both atomisers are original but from different versions. One version is made of aluminium and the others are made of zinc.... The carbs have definitly been done before so i think someone just missed the difference or mixed up to sets or what ever... Who ever made them mixed those in the right and left carb.... I will put them back together again with 6 matching atomisers and hope it will be alright.... Thx 4 your help!! Regards! Bastian |

Please check also if the bodies are the same version. You may have one 2.2 and one 2.4 body.
These imho are different in the idle corrector jet (the one wich is pressed into the top of the body). The right preatomizer is from the 2.4 if i recap correctly |
