Any experience/reviews of Storm Crankshft in New York?

			Hello all,

I have a 911 crank that needs straightening and possibly other work. There is a crankshaft grinder that is local to me called Storm Crankshaft, in Mt. Vernon, NY. Anyone have experience with them? My second choice is to send it to Marine Crankshaft on the west coast, but local would be nice if these guys are good. Thanks for your thoughts. Scott |

I had a customer drop off a basket case engine for assessment and reassembly. The crank had been sent there and when I measured it it became very clear that it was nowhere even close to straight. Disclaimer: we don't know if they ever touched the crank.

Straightened it and heat treated it. All worked out in the end. If they're not a Porsche machine shop then it's just not worth the risk with such a critical component. Do yourself a favor and send it out to Ollies or Pauter. My .02

Thanks guys. That's enough info. for me to send it to a Porsche-knowledgeable shop to have this work done.
