How did you clean and pretty up your covers?

Now that the red toy motor has been stripped down to a bunch of containers it's time to do something with my covers and tin.

My parts cleaning station works pretty good, but maybe I should do more?

What is everyone else doing? And then just leaving them or powder coating?

The tin is pretty rusty in spots.

Glass bead, send the tin out for powdercoat or krylon semi-flat black it. Bead the covers and clear coat VHT hi temp clear. Don't bead the case or cam towers for obvious reasons.

Powdercoat... I think my shop used about 60% gloss for engine tin.
I used VHT for the cylinder air guides.

Turns out the neighbour has a small sand blaster with glass in it that he will lend me.

Any issue using glass bead on the fan? I hear just spraying it with Gibbs works great?

Media blasting is pretty easy and kinda fun. Please be aware that glass or silica sand media are very dangerous to your lungs: silicosis. Simple dusk masks don't get it. Use a full respirator even if it's in a blast cabinet.
