I miss Chris too. He gave me the material and mechanical properties for Dilavar from one of his data sources.

As far as the guides go, I think there is a hardness range that is compatible between two materials in sliding contact. If the difference is too large, and there is not a compensating factor like lubricity or friction reduction one just machines the other down, is that not so?

Also would like to know if anyone uses Colisbro. It sounds like it is the best of both worlds. Not sure how hard it is to machine. I am accustomed to hand reaming the the guide to the correct clearance. I wonder if that would be possible with a harder material.
