2.5 ss mfi
Considering building a 2.5 SS MFI engine. I have the MFI. Looking for a rough idea of a build list to include whether I should use a 2.7 case or an early 65 aluminum case that has already been opened up for 90mm spigots and has a MFI pump pedestal already installed. This will be a sport engine, not a race engine. Might incorporate the Rothsport
high butterfly TBs...and not sure if I want to twin plug it. This will probably end up in a SWB 911 ![]() Henry? Speedo |

I love the idea, great engine!
If you decide to go with 2.7 case I would be interested in your aluminium case for my 2.5ss twin-turbo engine...

Response here has been amazing...
Not much SS 2.5 or 2.8 interest?
Realized I have all the components and machining done to start my 2.7 RS MFI spec engine. Wouldn't take much to shift that towards a SS 2.5...might be able to use that same pump set-up, just need some better CR pistons than the 8.5 RS Mahles. Speedo |

The short stroke 2.5 or SS 2.8 engine are very cool if your goal is RPM. Spinning those little engines is a thrill.
That said, I would generally advise building the largest engine you can based on your application. Building a high RPM engine requires compromises (always to low end) but those compromises also include noise, engine life, fuel mileage, challenging heat distribution and a general sense of frantic shifting. Longer stroke engines tend to offer an ease of driving missing from peaky engine.
