MFI fitment questions
Hi,
Collecting parts for building a 2.5 ST-like engine I bought a complete MFI system. It should have been all 2.2E... However checking the numbers: pump: 010 -> 2.2E Throttle bodies 901.110.1010R -> 2.0 -2.2S Stacks 911.110.3010R -> 2.2E It turned out that the stack does not fit the throttle bodies. The distance between the throttle studs don't fit the holes in the stacks...? Does anyone has the dimensions or possible combinations that do fit together....? Thanks, Bart |

Bart, The 69 stacks & TB's were a one year only size. Something like 66mm stud spacing for the 69 yr and then changed to something like 71mm for the 1970 2.2 MFI. The 2.0S throttle bodies are worth more $ than a pair of 2.2E throttle bodies so you shouldn't have any problems selling or trading for the 2.2E pair you need.

Mark is correct on the measurements.
69 S & E are unique to the 66mm spread. The 70-71 fit the 71mm mags stacks as well as the 72-73 plastic stack. This means you can use the 72-73 throttle bodies will also fit late mag and all plastic stacks. If you need to put something special together we can build/ rebuild anything you want. Below is some of our resent projects. ![]() WE can also repair badly corroded throttle housings.

@Mark: thanks for the info! yep one of the great things of Porsche, continiously improving/optimizing sometimes challeging to the novice.....
@Henry: pfffft, the work caught in these pictures causes probably simular feelings when woman walk into a shoe shop ;-) I will see who wants to swap tight S TB for good E bodies question to both pro's: I have been reading a lot of info on porting heads venturi sizes and air intake speeds etc but is is normally referring to carbs (Webers). I supose it is for MFI the same induction magic!? are there some engineering rule of thumb or are the openings simular to carbs? I plan to build a 2.4 - 2.5 high compression SS based on 7R case (small spigots) Gathering parts and info at the moment. thanks! |
