'83 911 SC 3.0 L rebuild 142,000 miles


During disassembly, I found this. This does not appear to be a fresh break. Fix with GB Weld and tighten the nut carefully or weld and tap for the stud? Thanks, Bruce

I had on like that, welded it up and tapped it, worked out well.

I live in the frontier of Montana; can any machine shop the will weld aluminum do the job? Or ship it off to, say, Ollie's?

You should be able to find a competent Al welder near you. you can use the mount as a fixture to locate the hole afterwards.
