Planning to use the Driven product.
Which viscosity do you use for a 3.8 race engine break in? Mahle jugs and pistons, new cams, clevite coated main and rod bearings? Mike

EDIT 15-50 weight "conventional" Joe Gibbs Driven break in oil - for the 20 minute 2000 RPM cam/lifter break in - important to let engine cool down completely and then next day track accel/decel piston ring/cylinder break in - 4x 20 minute sessions Then the Valvoline 20-50 for one race day - 4x 20 minute sessions For the 3.8L race engine 2012 - JE 102mmx12.5:1 3.8 p set with Goetze rings Reconditioned/recoated cylinders from 100 to 102MM by EBS Cams - Webcams 20/21 with reconditioned lifters, EBS valve springs, etc We went to the Clevite rod bearings after an engine refresh late in 2016 Regards,

Hi,I have used Valvoline non-detergent 30W for 40 years for the 1st 500 miles.Then do a leakdown test.If good change to a regular oil of your choice.No synthetic in the 1st 5000 miles.Fred
