spark plugs for 3.2 ss

What spark plugs(heat range) for a 3.2 SS, 9.5cr, CIS, single plug, 78ROW motor. Thanks Jerry

I always used Bosch W3CS (silver plugs), for about 45,000 km....worked perfectly, my spec was almost identical to yours.

I was always unhappy to change out the plugs (usually every 3 years) as I would take them out and they looked perfect...every time, seemed a waste to throw out plugs that still looked so good.

What is up with all the new Bosch plugs? Our host has listed Bosch W-3-CSRacing), Bosch F-4-CS (Racing), Bosch XR-2-CS (7700), Bosch WR-7-DC+ (7900), Bosch W-7-DSR, Bosch WR-7-DC+ (7900), W-4-CS (Racing) all listed for a Carrera. There is no mention of Copper or Platinum for these in our host's catalog.

Plus there is a Bosch W-3-DPO for older? cars. Equivalent to NGK BP8ES?

Is there a decoder somewhere? Obviously the number is the heat range and R would be resistor, but how do you tell if it is a platinum, iridium, copper or what ever?

I had a hard time getting Bosch platinum wr-5dp locally. Had to order them from California thru NAPA. Now that I plan to rebuild my stock 78 ROW motor to the above mentioned specs was curious about the proper heat range plug and if I could get them locally thru ie Pep boys, advance, autozone, napa?

OK, so I have been asleep for the past couple of years. So now Bosch has a SILVER plug that is supposed to be good for "older" cars? WTF was wrong with the coppers? IF you could still get them....

OK, so I went to Bosch's web page to get updated. When I search for plugs to use in a 911 they don't list silvers for a '71 to '89 and nothing for 2,7s.

My engine was built by Kremer in Germany, they were the ones who recommended the silver plugs, although they said that you could cheap out on the copper ones if you really wanted to.

These were also the guys who replaced every single nut and bolt on the engine, no matter how trivial and when I challenged them on the cost of doing that, their response was " we build things to a particular standard, if you wanted less than that you should have had someone else build your engine"

They also broke the engine in for me at the Nuremburgring and with all that, if they said silvers were the way to go, good enough for me.

The only sadness is that replacing those plugs every three years and about 12000 km felt wasteful as they looked perfect every time.

Sparkplugs.com used to be just spark plugs but it seems in recent years, like most other companies, they continue to expand their offerings to sell/drop ship whatever they can. So it took some hunting but I found their spark plug brand deciphering page

Well, I'm just trying to stay up to date. I never heard of Silver Bosch plugs. If I could figure out which ones to use in my car, I might try them.

Yeah, it was a beautiful thing.....I just sold the car that it was in, the engine was flawless, made a ton of hp, ran like a clock....looked beautiful to boot.

So, what would everyone consider the opitimal heat range plug for the motor listed above using bosch's nominclature ie 3,4 ,5. Dennis uses a w3cs plug. anyone use a 4 heat range?

I have been using NGK BP8ES in my SS2,5 AND my new 3,0L with no problems on the street AND track.
The newest offerings by Bosch are an enigma IMO.
