What are the problems with the 3.6 engines?

Hi all.

What are the problems with the 3.6 engines?
I know the typical wear areas on the 911 engines, cam pitting, valve guide etc.
just wondering why some make a new crankcase, what's up with these and what to look for when rebuild the 3,6.

Other than that they are hard (expensive) to find, they are as bullet proof as the air cooled engines come.

New aftermarket cases are done because you cant get new cases from Porsche and even a great design can be improved.
