Dual Plug and the MSD Digital 6AL in a 3.2

It has been stated in a few different posts that a pair of (old analog) MSD 6ALs would not trigger off of the single shared signal coming from a Motronic ECU. Andial had a product described as a signal splitter that people used in conjunction with a pair of analog 6ALs. As I understand it this was actually a pair of signal generators triggered from the original signal.

Has anyone tried using the one signal direct from the Motronic to a pair of the new Digtial 6ALs? As an analog circuit I can understand why a certain signal power level might be required while switching to a digital controller may simple 'read' the change in voltage and not need to have any threshold amperage behind it.

As a competitive solution the Electromotive XDI system would cost around $2000 and offers easier tuning, but it also gets rid of the dizzy, which rubs me the wrong way somehow.
