I'm a bit behind in posting updates. The car has actually progressed quite a bit since this work was completed.
The battery has been relocated to the smugglers box. A cutoff switch installed with driver and outside activation. A fire suppression system has also been installed.

The tiny battery (15 lbs) and improved weight distribution will help performance. The cutoff switch and halon system will help ease my distaste for burning in a firey death.
