need new 16" oem 7 spoke wheels for 323i

I bought my 323i cheap from my father- in- law's neighbor, but a year before he got run off the road and smashed one of his rims. It's been replaced by the spare, but I'd like another OEM wheel to replace the mangled mess in my trunk. I've found all kinds of replicas online (PP only shows the 17" style #45), but I don't really know what kind of quality these online shops provide. Any help? I'm looking to spend around $150. If there are any good local shops in Chicago area, that would be great, too.

Thanks in advance!

For a location specific question such as this I would contact your local BMWCCA group goto bmwcca.com and find you local chapter website. Contact them and find out if they have an online chat setup.

Assuming it is repairable: There are some good wheel repair shops in DFW so Chicago should have some too.

To replace: Try ebay but shipping is expensive. Try to find a local ebay ad where you can pick up locally. If you get hooked up with the local BMWCCA you will probably find members selling wheels.

Thanks Jeron. You seem to be all over this board and have helped me out before. I appreciate your assistance.

I'd consider having the wheel repaired if possible. OEM wheels are not cheap.

Even if I didn't get an actual OEM wheel, I would like a replica that would be functional if it had to be used. I've heard the replicas look the same, but I would need a replacement wheel cap for the center. I'm cool with that if there's not a big difference.

You should be able to find a good quality replica. The main differences would be the weight and quality control, which translates into a slightly more difficult to balance wheel. Make sure to weigh the difference in cost between a replica and a used OEM wheel. Pun intended.

The replica brands sold by DiscountTireDirect.com and TireRack.com should be good quality. Of course you should check to see if PelicanParts.com sells wheels first.

Thanks for the help, gentlemen. DiscountTireDirect.com had them for $145! Much better than some of the other spots. Thanks again!
