turn signal
I have an intermitent left front turn signal. The idiot light comes on and the left front turn signal will die and then come back to life on a whim. I have tried replacing the bulb several times and I have inspected the socket for any cracking or loose wires. Has anyone else had this problem?

I am having the same problem. Now that folks from this forum have clued me in on how to get the lens off and replace the bulb, I find I have the same problem as you. Sometimes the signal works, and sometimes it doesn't which then shows on the dashboard warning light as the bulb being out. Very strange.

I've heard BMW's can be finnicky about bulbs. I normally don't go in fo this kind of bunk. But buying a bulb from the dealer or swapping with the other signal to see if the problem follows the bulb would help eliminate the bulb as a culprit.
I would recheck the socket. Specifically look to see if there is any corrosion on the contacts to the bulb and the contacts at the harness. Lightly sand any corrosion off of the bulb contacts in the socket. Also, make sure you are replacing the correct light. It could be the side marker. Visually verify which bulb is out instead of relying on the dash warning.
